2012 Six races and Six winners: what happen in Bahrain, Spain and Monaco

Yes, I know, no time to write updates on how the most competitive F1 season is going… sorry lads…. and yes! I follow the races but also (like everyone else) I have a day job that competes with my thoughts and my writing… Anyhow I am back in town.

So six races and we have… SIX winners. Last time we reviewed the Chinese Grand Prix, by now you know everything that happen in all races so far…. For my own sake and to show you that I am really passionate about F1 races, I will give my own shot:

2012 Bahrain Grand Prix:

  • Sebastian Vettel on top form wins the Bahrain Grand Prix.
  • Kimi Raikkonen challenged Vettel but had to settle for second position… actually some said that Lotus should have ordered Grosjean to let Kimi pass… but that did not happen, so Kimi had to use his best skills to overtake his teammate.
  • Grosjean settled for third position. 2 Lotus drivers in the podium!
  • Webber, Rosberg, Di Resta, Alonso, Hamilton, Massa and Schumacher completed the top 10… Schumacher now adds a second point to his lonely 1 point.
  • Schumacher could have finished in better position but recall that he had a 5-grid penalty for changing gearbox before the race. Bad!

2012 Spanish Grand Prix:

  • Pastor Maldonado, Venezuelan F1 Hope wins the Spanish Grand Prix. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also tweeted the win… wow!

  • Fernando Alonso challenged Maldonado but had to settle for second place. The Venezuelan was untouchable.
  • Kimi Raikkonen again in the podium!
  • Romain Grosjean came in 4th place, again 2 Lotus driver within the top 5 positions!
  • Kobayashi, Vettel, Rosberg, Hamilton, Button and Hulkenberg completed the top10.
  • Schumacher under the microscope: he took out Bruno Senna from behind… in the long straight Schumi extended his breaking point while Senna did not concede any more space, the two crashed from the race… what a pity! Schumi got a 5-grid penaly to be serve in Monaco.
  • The pic of the race: To pass or not to pass… maybe too optimistic?

2012 Monaco Grand Prix:

  • Mark Webber first win of the season and Red Bull second win in 2012.
  • Nico Rosberg came in 2nd place (his second podium this year after winning the Chinese Grand Prix)
  • Fernando Alonso came in 3rd place (his third podium this year after his win at Malaysia and 2nd place in Spain). Ferrari is getting to terms with their car, finally!
  • Sebastian Vettel came in fourth place (having qualified 9th!!! wow that was a good race strategy, specially in Monaco where overtaking is almost impossible)
  • Hamilton, Massa, Di Resta, Hulkenberg, Raikkonen and Senna completed the top10.
  • Spanish winner Pastor Maldonado collided with De La Rosa… lost momentum for Venezuela?
  • Schumacher again under the microscope: The GOOD: he actually got the pole position… the BAD: he was demoted to the sixth position serving a 5-grid penalty for hitting Senna during the Spanish Grand Prix race… the UGLY: He clashed with Grosjean at the start and later DNF due to a fuel pressure issue… so ouch
  • The pic of the race: Again Schumi To pass or not to pass… maybe too optimistic?
